Yes! You are invited to begin your healing journey with an initial consultation at Coastal Path Therapy. This 15- 20-minute session allows me to understand your needs and interest in therapy and determine if we would be a good fit to work together. My goal is to make you feel comfortable, heard, and to answer any questions you might have about the therapy process.
In our first session, we will start with a quick review of confidentiality in therapy and our office policies, including cancellation policies. The goal of our first session will be to learn more about you including your goals for therapy. Remember, therapy is a non-judgmental space!
Virtual and in-person sessions are 53-55 minutes.
This is a great question. Yes, the information you share in therapy is confidential, with a couple of exceptions. If you share an intention to harm yourself or someone else, the confidentiality in therapy will be broken to ensure your safety and/or the safety of others.
Please note that our practice has a 24-hour cancellation notice. If you do not cancel within this timeframe, you will be charged the full session rate.
The No Surprises Act protects people covered under group and individual health plans from receiving surprise medical bills when they receive most emergency services, non-emergency services from out-of-network providers at in-network facilities, and services from out-of-network air ambulance service providers. It also establishes an independent dispute resolution process for payment disputes between plans and providers, and provides new dispute resolution opportunities for uninsured and self-pay individuals when they receive a medical bill that is substantially greater than the good faith estimate they get from the provider.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your
medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have
insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for
medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of
any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a
Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you
can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith
Estimate.
